Cooking Lessons in Pelion

If you want to hold on a little more to the magic of your journey in the mythical mountain of the Centaurs and the Argonauts, we invite you to participate in our traditional Greek cooking classes. The gastronomy, culture and natural landscape of Pelion, through the many  traditional aromas and flavours of this region of Greece, are going to follow you back home Guests are picked up from the assembly point and at about 11.00 reach the Karaïskos Farm, where they are welcomed with a cup of Greek coffee, served with grape must "loukoumi". Next, they visit the vegetable garden to learn about the seasonal products and herbs locally grown in Pelion.Most ingredients are taken from this garden  and they  are  usually prepared and ready to be used in special bowls before the class starts.During the class, traditional Greek spirits like "tsipouro" or "ouzo" are served accompanied by olives and feta cheese.  After the cooking class, at about 14.00, the table is set for the meal. Wine is served free of charge. At the end, a  group photo is going to be taken with the guests and staff. Also, the impressions made during the class can be  written  in the guest book and the gifts are going to be handed out to the  participants (souvenir certificate of attendance, a book with the recipes, a small gift bag with traditional olives, Pelion ouzo and a cooking apron).   Prices include: Cooking Lessons Insurance and Vat

East Pelion Mini Boat Tour

Hiking among Pelion' s Nature

Horse Riding

It is not an accident that the homeland of the Centaurs, half-men and half-horses was Pelion according to the Greek Mythology.Well known for their bravery and deep knowledge of herbs they were respected by humans and always had a guiding role to play in many of the mythical stories.. Horses had also a special role to play and riding has always been one of Ancient-and not only-Greece's favourite's activities.It had been  for centuriese the only way of transportation until the emerge of machines. Riding in Pelion either in one of the traditional cobbled paths,whose purpose from the start was to help the way of horses  or among the forest,one is simply enchanted.It is the peaceful pace of the horses that take him in places among the greenery, through olive groves, squares with old trees and traditional houses.. The old cobbled paths that we follow in our tours have been maintained by many generations of native people and each one carries a history of its own, long before the cars started moving on the asphalt covered roads.Trotting through small traditional villages, old monasteries and castles where we stop to admire nature. Meteora Day Trip from Volos

At the northwest edge of the Plain of Thessaly, between the mountain of Pindos and Antichasia and  near Peneios river, the stone giants of Meteora stand still and silent. Their proud and imposing aspect discontinues  the monotony of the vast Thessalic plain. The rocks stand right above Kalambaka and the picturesque Kastraki, full of awe and beauty. A daily excursion combines the unique experience that Meteora, also  known also as "The Stone Forest" offer  with the religious sentiment created by their Monasteries. The journey to Meteora starts from Volos and other resorts in Pelion. We pass by  the cities of Larisa, Trikala and Kalambaka. After arriving in Kalambaka, we shortly after reach the massively impressive  rocks of Meteora that take one's  breath away.We learn about  the monarchy of the 11th  century and have also the chance to visit two of the historical monasteries.  Usually  visiting  the Monasteries of  Agios Stefano, Big Meteoro, Varlaam or Agio Nikolao, depending on the day that excursion occurs. Afterwards, we start our descend to Kastraki, where we can have a meal in a traditional Greek tavern enjoying the view. Pelion boat trip "Poseidons Caves"

Οn the coasts of North Pelion in a journey of approximately 45-50 min  by a speed boat  from Agios Ioannis we find a cluster of caves. The locals named them caves of Poseidon because according to the myth the ancient god of the sea used to live in them. We cruise close to the beautiful beaches of The north side of east Pelion peninsula We first pass through Plaka beach and continue to the beach of Banika. We also pass from  the sandy beach of Agioi Saranta, the village of Horefto with a beach  of 2 klms length - Elitsa beach and Omvrios. We have our first stop  in the Caves of Poseidon. Apart from the caves one can see closely a ship wreck from World War II.With  our  speedboat we can enter in some of  the Caves whose interior will astonish even the most demanding or we can swim and feel the unique beauty of the place.   Price includes: Transportation with motor boats. Pelion Sea Kayaking

The mythical ship "Argo" having Jason and The Argonauts on board, set off  from the port of ancient Iolcus  to seek for the Golden Fleece.Now the east Pelion coastline challenges you to become a modern Argonaut, discovering hidden treasures.. Rent a Boat

Discovering the coasts of Pelion with your own boat! Rent a boat for all days of your holidays or for a shorter time of period. Having a boat in Pelion is giving you the possibility to enjoy and explore the endless sandy beaches.We  make sure that the type of boat that you choose is ready for you at the harbour of Agios Ioannis. You have the possibility of visiting a lot of beaches, enjoy the sun and the sea and who knows ?You may discover your own private beach! Renting  a boat for all days of your holidays can be pre-booked  with your accommodation. This way you are offered a discount and your holiday budget   becomes much lower. All the boats are in  excellent condition, having a special canopy to protect you from the sun, full tank of petrol and all the lifeguard means . If you do not want to be the captain, our  Agency offers an organised service of transport to the beaches with high speed ships at the time that you want to leave and return. The Little Train of Pelion

This day trip offers the chance to experience a ride on the famous train of Pelion, created in 1895. In this itinerary we can discover details of  one of the most characteristic railway lines in the world (60 cm wide narrow gauge railway).   Being a  work by Evaristo de Chirico – the father of the famous painter Giorgio de Chirico –  is known for its high aesthetics and its architectural harmony, parts of which are the bridges we cross along our way. We depart by bus from Volos or Agios Ioannis to Ano Lechonia. At the station of Ano Lechonia we board on  the train and enjoy the one and a half hour adventure with the so-called “Mountzouris”, meaning in greek " being covered with coal dirt" ( by the colas that used to be the fuel). Having arrived at the railway station of Milies, we follow a path towards the village center, with its famous square and the exceptionally decorated -with wood carved interior- church. Optionally we  can continue by bus to Vizitsa, where we will have a traditional lunch and visit the traditional attractions of villages. Via Ferrata-Canyoning

What more exciting than climbing and swimming in one of Pelion's hidden places! A via ferrata canyoning route designed and tailored in one of Pelion's canyons.An easy route even for beginners in which one has the chance to admire waterfalls and naturally fromed pools.   Difficulty Level: Easy -Beginners  Duration: 4 hours.  A Via Ferrata, special route designed by experts in this sport  in one of the most beautiful spots of a Pelion canyon.
