"Poseidon's Caves" Pelion Boat tour

Along the coasts of North Pelion, in a distance of approximately 45-50 min with a speed boat from Agios Ioannis, we find a cluster of caves. This is the place where all the ancient Greek myths are revived, the base of Poseidon, the God of the Sea and where the wedding of Thetis and Peleus took place. We sail close to the beautiful beaches of the north side of east Pelion Peninsula. We pass along Plaka beach and continue to the beach of Banika. Afterwards, we pass from the sandy beach of Agioi Saranta, the village of Horefto with a 2 km long beach, Elitsa beach and Omvrios. Our first stop is at the Caves of Poseidon. Apart from the caves one can closely see a ship wreck from World War II. With our speedboat we can enter in some of the caves to see the astonishing interior or to swim and feel the unique beauty of the place. Price includes: Transportation with motor boats. Cooking lessons in a farm

If you want to hold on a little more to the magic of your journey in the mythical mountain of the Centaurs and the Argonauts, we invite you to participate in our traditional Greek cooking classes. The gastronomy, culture and natural landscape of Pelion, through the many traditional aromas and flavors of this region of Greece, are going to follow you back home Available recipes: 1) Let's make the famous Greek pie with local woman You will learn how to make-open phyllo dough by the traditional way for the pie, fill it with fresh vegetables and herbs collected straight from the farm’s garden and bake it in the wood oven. Until the pie is ready, we will prepare fluffy fried zucchini-balls, a tradi-tional refreshing aromatic yogurt dip – tzatziki - with herds from the garden and a fresh seasonal salad. 2) Vegetarian lovers Learn how to cook with what the fertile land of Pelion produces. We will cook "Briam" (oven-baked vegetables) with various seasonal vegetables gathered from the garden. Until the “Briam” is ready, we will prepare a delicious Pesto Pasta. Our chef will teach you how to prepare our local and traditional pasta called “hilopites” and homemade basil sauce. This menu also includes preparing a traditional refreshing aromatic yogurt dip – tzatziki - with herds from the garden and a fresh seasonal salad. 3) Feast of Flavors  You will learn how to cook a traditional Pelion recipe, “Meatballs in toma-to sauce”. Knead the meatballs, prepare fresh tomato sauce and serve them with traditional local pasta “hilopites”. We set the table and com-plete our meal with traditional “Batzina”, an original zucchini pie from the region of Thessaly, a traditional refreshing aromatic yogurt dip – tzatziki - with herds from the garden and a fresh seasonal salad. 4) Culinary experience with Timoleon Diamantis, Greece’s Master Chef A culinary journey in the history of the Greek “mezes” Gastronomy is the art of preparing and serving rich or delicate and appe-tizing food, the cooking styles of particular regions, and the science of good eating. Timoleon Diamantis, Greece’s Master Chef from Makrinitsa (one of the most famous Pelion’s villages), will be your ideal host. Timoleon will help you to wade into the local gastronomy in a more modern approach. At this cooking lesson you will have the opportunity to collect and learn more about the seasonal vegetables of our garden and how you can cook or preserve them, to smell the aromas of the precious Pelion herbs and experience a unique culinary experience next to an acclaimed chef. Enjoy this unique experiential culinary journey in the history of the Greek “mezes”, small dishes that were served in the famous “tsipouradika” (small taverns) in our region from 1922 until today. Peliongastronomy awaits you to discover it. Guests are being welcomed,  with a cup of hot mountain tea or homemade sour cherry juice. The pie will be served on the table accompanied with sea-sonal salad and wine from the Greek vineyard. At the end of the lesson, we say goodbye to our guests with small gifts and participation diplomas. Guests are picked up from the assembly point and at about 11.00 reach the Karaiskos Farm, where they are welcomed with a cup of Greek coffee, served with grape must "loukoumi". Next, they visit the vegetable garden to learn about the seasonal products and herbs locally grown in Pelion. Most ingredients are taken from this garden and they are usually prepared and ready to be used in special bowls before the class starts. During the class, traditional Greek spirits like "tsipouro" or "ouzo" are served accompanied by olives and feta cheese.  After the cooking class, at about 14.00, the table is set for the meal. Wine is served free of charge. At the end, a group photo is going to be taken with the guests and staff. Also, the impressions made during the class can be written  in the guest book and the gifts are going to be handed out to the  participants ( a souvenir certificate of attendance, a book with the recipes, a small gift bag with traditional olives, Pelion ouzo and a cooking apron). East Pelion Mini Boat Tour

The stalagmites and the stalactites, formed throughout thousand years, create a fascinating scenery! We continue to Fakistra beach known for the sky blue waters and the impressive green nature all around. Next destination is the magical beach of Mylopotamos with the naturally formed rock arch. Hiking among Pelion's Nature

Hiking on Pelion`s mountain routes... Different paths, each one getting you closer to Pelion's nature! Pelion was the summer residence of the Olympian gods, the myth says. Taking part in one of the hiking tours is going to make you confirm this... The visitor walks among forests of chestnuts and pines on one side of the Penisnsula, changing with plane and olive trees on the other... Horse Riding

It is not an accident that the homeland of the Centaurs, half-men and half-horses was Pelion according to the Greek Mythology. Well known for their bravery and deep knowledge of herbs they were respected by humans and always had a guiding role to play in many of the mythical stories… Horses had also a special role to play and riding has always been one of Greece's favorite activities. It had been for centuries the only way of transportation until the emerge of machines. Riding in Pelion either in one of the traditional cobbled paths, whose purpose was to help the way of the horses or among the forest one is simply enchanted .It is the peaceful pace of the horses that  take him in places among the greenery, through olive groves, squares with old trees and traditional houses. The old cobbled paths that we follow in our tours have been maintained by many generations of native people and each one carries a history of its own, long before the cars started moving on the asphalt covered roads. Meteora Day Trip from Volos

At the northwest edge of the plain of Thessaly, between the mountain of Pindos and Antichasia and near Peneios river, the stone giants of Meteora stand still and silent. Their proud and imposing aspect discontinues the monotony of the vast Thessalic plain. The rocks stand right above Kalambaka and the picturesque Kastraki, full of awe and beauty. A daily excursion combines the unique experience that Meteora, also known as "The Stone Forest", offer with the religious sentiment created by their Monasteries. The journey to Meteora starts from Volos and other resorts in Pelion. We pass by the cities of Larisa, Trikala and Kalambaka. After Kalambaka, we shortly reach the massively impressive rocks of Meteora. We learn about the monarchy of the 11th century and we have also the chance to visit two of the historical monasteries.  Usually, we visit the Monasteries of Agios Stefano, Big Meteoro, Varlaam or Agio Nikolao, depending on the day that excursion occurs. Afterwards, we start our descend to Kastraki, where we can have a meal in a traditional Greek tavern enjoying the view. The trip continues across the Thessalian plain towards Volos (appr.3 hours). There, (according to your choice) we can also spend some time to see the town or drink a coffee. This route is easy moving and everybody can do it easily. The Little Train of Pelion

This day trip offers the chance to experience a ride on the famous train of Pelion, created in 1895. In this itinerary we can discover details of one of the most characteristic railway lines in the world (60 cm wide narrow-gauge railway). Designed by Evaristo de Chirico – the father of the famous painter Giorgio de Chirico – it is known for its high aesthetics and its architectural harmony, parts of which are the bridges we cross along our way. We depart by bus from Volos or Agios Ioannis to Ano Lechonia. At the station of Ano Lechonia we board on the train and enjoy the one and a half hour adventure with the so-called “Mountzouris”, meaning smudgy in Greek. Having arrived at the railway station of Milies, we follow a path towards the village center, with its famous square and the exceptionally decorated -with wood carved interior- church. Optionally we can continue by bus to Vizitsa, where we will have a traditional lunch and visit the traditional attractions of villages. Via Ferrata-Canyoning
